I was affected in SEGPA, in 2007, having arrived in the department of Maine et Loire after the assignments of the 1st and 2nd movements. I had no experience in specialized education and I did not know anything about SEGPA. So the beginnings were pretty chaotic, I was really destabilized by those students who did not want to go into apprenticeships, most of whom showed a lack of interest in school. I multiplied without stop situations, strategies without much success, I had the feeling to have little control over learning situations, I did not understand who my students were and the way to motivate them. My role as a teacher is to bring my students to the appropriation of knowledge, I did not succeed, I had to understand why. A necessary questioning was imposed on me, with a priority: getting to know the students in SEGPA, for better identify the problem of failure and find useful strategies. The team at the college Benjamin Delessert really supported me in my approach and little by little, I experienced slight successes that filled me with joy, made me want to to persevere from where I want to go further in my professional commitment, in my reflection and thus return to training CAPASH became obvious.
