In the heroic times, in the 50s and 60s, the computer scientist was the one who knew how to use
a computer, basically to do calculations. His goal was almost always to find
a calculation method - algorithm implementing the components of a computer: circuits

program. The computer scientist was a programmer, which amused him a lot and the computer
was a form of craftsmanship.
